hi i am from all the way across the water in kintyre, a long time ago some of my ancestors took off from Rathlin and the Antrim coast and headed to Campbeltown, when i found this out it clarified for me the reason i have always found the north coast of ireland so interesting. I am interested in history, particularly ancient and local. i enjoy a slightly pagany way of looking at the world but i ain't no hippy.....I am a single mother with three adorable noisy kids (oh joy). My family and some friends are heading for a camping trip to the antrim coast in july and would love any advice that can be given, we enjoy walking and plan to take it nice and slow so we can soak up the whole atmosphere of the place x

I hope you get the sort of weather we are enjoying right now, when you come camping here, in July. As for walking, you might like to check out our new Walking Board here. Don't worry about yer noisy kids ... we have plenty of our own over here, already. Me too. Mind you, that's not surprising, after having to listen to both sides of the religious divide over here, slanging away at each other for years & years and hearing some of them claim that the World is only a few thousand years old, & man walked with the Dinosaurs! Sometimes I even wonder if some of them actually still believe that the World is flat! Anyway, have a wonderful holiday. I hope you get all your questions answered here. Cheers Ptarmigan
