Are you going to a Burns Supper this week? If so, then this might just put you in the mood: Hot Air! Or maybe this will: Haggis Supper! Cheers Dick

Well I'm delighted to say I attended the Burns Supper in the 1608, Bushmills, last night, which was run by 'Bushmills Ulster Scots Heritage' & I even got a chance to play my Fiddle. Of course as Burns was a Fiddler himself, that was kind of appropriate. The evening went very well indeed & the food was absolutely wonderful. Shame we can only get Haggis once a year over here. As with most Burns Suppers in Ireland though, they only served a small portion of Haggis .. as a starter! Having said that, half the folk didn't even eat the Haggis anyway, but had SOUP instead! Going to a Burns Supper & not eating Haggis is surely a bit like going to a Roman Orgy .... & reading a book! ;D So tell me, did anyone else here actually attend a Burns Supper this year? If so, how did it go? ..... did you eat the Haggis? Cheers Dick

No, no Burns suppers for us this year. But I was just reading over on the Ulster-Scot Forum that in Alloway, the haggis was in canapes, and that it was not addressed! What sacrilege is this!? Not addressing the haggis? Aye, Rabbie was surely turnin' over in his grave!
